A Brief History
The Padron line of cigars was started in 1964 by Jose Padron, in Miami, Florida. Jose O. Padron moved to Florida from Cuba and then moved his cigar company to Esteli, Nicaragua in 1970. Because of political issues, the 1970s were an uneasy time for most cigar manufacturers. Nicaragua had undergone a civil war and the United states disliked the fact that they had joined with Cuba to support the Marxists. This forced Jose to open a new factory in Honduras, where they shifted some production in order to maintain the same output from their factories. Because of more political issues, they were forced, yet again, to move their production to Honduras. Living in a one-bedroom apartment, things weren't great for the Padron family and their cigars. They endured most of their problems and came out ahead with one of the finest cigars on the market. In 1993 they finally got their big break at a trade show. Since then it's been a battle to be the king of the hill in the cigar industry! Padron cigars are doing very well!

The Padron Classic Line
Being one of the best classic lines in all of the cigar industry, the Padron classics are well-priced, even smoking, and full of flavor compared to most classic lines of cigars. No other company is allowed to touch the production of Padron cigars and all middle-men have been cut out. Even the distribution is handled by Padron and his family. These medium-full bodied cigars are made in either the Tabacos Cubanica factory in Esteli, Nicaragua or Tabacos Centroamericanos in Danli, Honduras. Every cigar in the classic Padron line is offered in Natural, as well as Maduro. The tobacco that is used for the binder and filler are both Nicaraguan. These cigars are made in what are considered the Padron "thousand" series including the Padron 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, and 7000 sizes. Also included in this line are the Padron Churchills, Corticos, Ambassodor, Magnum, Londres, Palmas, and Executives.

Padron 1964 Anniversary Cigars
Jose Padron needed an aged cigar that was made for a higher clientel of cigar smokers. These cigars have a completely different composition and were released for Padron’s 30th Anniversary of producign cigars. This cigar was named the Padron 1964 Anniversary cigar. The idea was also to create a box-pressed cigar in the 1940's Cuban tradition, which was something that wasn’t that common when the Padron 1964 Anniversary was released. This cigar is one of the most popular cigars made by Padron and have been a top-seller for almost a decade. They are limited in supply and the demand is huge. This drives up the price, but they're well worth it!

Padron 1926 Anniversary Cigars
To commemorate the 75th birthday of Jose Padron, the Padron 1926 series cigars was releasead and these cigars feature tobacco that is aged even longer than the 1964 series! The idea was to create a more full-bodied cigar than the Padron 1964 Anniversary cigar, and to select even rarer tobacco leaves. Some consider this cigar to be more complex, but it's actually just smoother and allows more flavors to be noticed. This is an extreme example of a fine cigar that can be made if quality is chosen over quantity. These cigars are hard to get and once you try one you'll see why. Aged tobacco and smooth flavors only come with time and care.

Padron 80th and 40th Anniversary Cigars
The Padron 80th Anniversary cigar was released in 2007 by Padron and were created to celebrate the 80th birthday of Jose Orlando Padron - the Founder of Padron Cigars. Each box of Padron 80ths has 8 cigars per box and come in a perfecto shape. This is the first cigar made by Padron in the Perfecto shape. Made in Esteli, Nicaragua, The Padron 80th comes in Natural and Maduro wrappers.

Padron Family Reserve 45th Anniversary Cigars
It's been said that the Padron Family Reserve 45th Anniversary Cigar is the best cigar made by Padron and it was very highly rated by Cigar Aficionado. It comes in a very limited edition box and comes in only Toro size. It is made with the same quality of tobacco as the Padron 80th Cigar, but the tobacco is aged even longer. This is said to be a family blend of the Padrons and is set to be released only once a year in September. All the tobacco in the construction of this cigar is five years old. At 6 1/2 inches long and 52 ring gauge the Padron 45th Anniversary is perfectly constructed by the best rollers in the Villazon factory.
